Legal Foundation

DFV Digital Hub operates in full compliance with the Republic Act No. 10173 — Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its implementing rules and regulations. We are also bound by the Republic Act No. 8792 — E-Commerce Act of 2000 and other applicable Philippine laws governing data protection, consumer rights, and electronic transactions.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data: name, email address, and role (buyer, author, admin) provided during registration or login.
  • Transaction data: cart items, purchase history, and payout preferences for authors and affiliates.
  • Content metadata: titles, descriptions, formats, and cover art uploaded by authors.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, session duration, and activity logs for security and fraud prevention.

2. Purpose and Use

We process personal data solely for the purposes disclosed at the time of collection: facilitating purchases, computing affiliate commissions, enforcing content policies, and maintaining platform security. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Security Measures

  • Encrypted storage of credentials and sensitive fields.
  • Auto-logout after 3 minutes of inactivity.
  • Right-click and text-selection blocking on protected previews.
  • Dynamic watermarking on every preview session tied to the viewer.
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability scans.

4. User Rights (Data Privacy Act)

Under RA 10173, you have the right to:

  • Be informed of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Object to the processing of your personal data.
  • Access and obtain copies of your data.
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate data.
  • File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential session cookies to maintain login state and cart contents. No third-party advertising trackers are embedded. You may clear local storage and cookies at any time via your browser settings.

6. Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify affected users and the National Privacy Commission within 72 hours of discovery, in accordance with NPC Circular No. 16-03 and related issuances.

7. Children and Minors

The platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. If we discover that a minor has provided personal information, we will promptly delete such data.
